About MB Private | Our funds structure
Market Leading Funds Management and Investment Structure
Our approach
Investment confidence through clarity
MB Private manages private credit funds that lend to residential borrowers, secured by first mortgages on New Zealand property. Each fund operates under a Master/Sub Trust structure with its own strategy and mandate, keeping risks separate. All loans are backed by property, often with personal guarantees and GSAs, providing strong protection.
With $25M in first-loss capital from our shareholders, our interests are aligned with investors. Governance is tight and transparent - overseen by an independent trustee (TEL), a global administrator (Apex/MMC), and an internal credit & risk committee.

About Our Funds
The Funds provide secured, limited-recourse credit facilities for MB Private to support the origination of non-consumer loans, typically secured by real assets such as residential or commercial property. All aspects of loan origination, servicing, and collections are managed by specialist lending partners, with the Funds having no direct involvement with borrowers.
In addition to providing financing, the Funds may also purchase loans directly or invest indirectly through credit instruments, including mezzanine and subordinated positions in securitisation structures. Investments are made in line with defined guidelines, with a consistent focus on diversification, asset quality, and conservative risk management.
