John Cummins

John joined MB Private in 2025, bringing with him a wealth of leadership experience from his time as Chief Investment Officer and Head of Treasury at MoneyMe, an ASX-listed non-bank digital lender. Over two transformative years there, he played a pivotal role in strategic capital management and governance, following a distinguished seven-year tenure in the same capacity at SocietyOne. At both institutions, John was a key figure across multiple executive committees, including Executive, ALCO, Credit and Risk, Compliance, and Data Management.

With a career spanning more than three decades, John has navigated the financial markets both locally and internationally, across the buy and sell sides. Before his fintech chapter, he held senior leadership roles at major global institutions—serving as Managing Director and Head of Global Credit at Westpac, and earlier as Head of Markets for APAC at RBS, where he oversaw operations across 14 countries from offices in Hong Kong and Sydney.

John holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University and is recognised as a deeply strategic and influential figure in financial services.
