Peter Clare

Peter is a seasoned financial services executive with an extensive leadership track record across some of Australia and New Zealand’s most prominent institutions, including Commonwealth Bank, Westpac, and St. George. Most recently, he served as CEO of Westpac New Zealand Limited. Prior to that, he held Group Executive roles at Commonwealth and St. George Banks, overseeing Strategy, M&A, Product, Operations, Technology, Property, and Procurement.

Following his corporate career, Peter has become a prominent figure in Australia’s fintech ecosystem. He currently serves as Chairman of Zagga Group Australia and Director at Digi.cash, and holds board positions with Heritage Bank, Dubber, Lynch Group, and RoZetta Ventures, among others.

Peter’s background also spans insolvency accounting and management consulting. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and the Governance Institute of Australia, and a fellow of CPA Australia and FINSIA. He holds a BCom and an MBA.
