Marcus Morrison

Marcus is widely recognised as one of the foremost experts in direct property investment and lending across New Zealand and Australia. In addition to being founder of MB Private, he is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Zagga New Zealand and Zagga Australia - independent marketplace lenders offering retail and wholesale investors direct access to property-backed loans. As a result of this experience, he has originated close to $3 billion in loans, with a live book well in excess of $1 billion.

Marcus led the creation of both businesses - from designing operating models and technology platforms to securing licences with the regulators (FMA In New Zealand and ASIC in Australia). He played a key role in launching and scaling each operation and currently sits as Executive Chairman at MB Private, as well as Director of both Zagga Australia and New Zealand. He is also chairing the Credit Committee and sitting on the Compliance Committee, and ESG Committee for Zagga Australia.

In addition to his work as a specialist owner and driver of Investment & Lending businesses, Marcus is an accomplished management consultant and business leader with global experience across strategy, marketing, sales, and organisational leadership. He has worked with top-tier firms in banking, finance, technology, and services, and has founded several successful other ventures.

Marcus holds a B.Sc. (First Class Honours) and a B.A. from Victoria University of Wellington.
