Kent Gillman

Kent joined MB Private in 2024, bringing more than 20 years of experience in lending, credit, and non-bank finance. He was the founding CEO and director of New Zealand’s first fintech lending business, leading it through a decade of innovation, regulatory engagement, capital raising, and operational growth. He also co-founded and served as a director of a non-bank lender focused on SME and mezzanine property finance.

A multiple-exit founder, Kent has deep hands-on experience building high-growth businesses from the ground up - driving strategy, risk, compliance, product development, and funding. He has a strong track record of aligning vision with execution and leading cross-functional teams in fast-moving environments.

Kent previously served on New Zealand’s Code Advisory Group for responsible lending and holds a BCom/LLB from the University of Canterbury.
